I think I'm becoming a coffee drinker.

I honestly never thought I would hear myself say those words.  I made it through college, grad school, six years of public accounting, two newborns, and twelve Boston winters without ever touching the stuff - other than the occasional after-dinner drink.  My little can of Diet Coke was always enough to kick me into gear in the mornings or help me get through that afternoon slump.  But not lately.  I'm D-R-A-G-G-I-N-G!  And a Dunkin Donuts caramel-flavored coffee (with cream & sugar) is the only thing that's keeping me going.

Needless to say, I feel horrible about not doing a better job keeping up with my blog these past few weeks.  It's not that I don't have anything to say - quite the contrary - but between the new job, the kids, and Tea Party (which thankfully is only two more weeks away), I haven't had a second of spare time to type, or do much else for that matter.  Also, the security on my new work laptop is CRAZY.  Besides not being allowed to install Photoshop, I can't even use my external hard drive (for frick's sake).  So that makes editing photos and blogging virtually impossible, even when I'm at home.  But fortunately this weekend Steve helped me pick out a new laptop.  And I'm loving it!  It's not pink, but it's super light-weight, the screen is huge, and the resolution is amazing.  Not to mention I don't have to schlep a computer bag back and forth on the subway every day.  Photoshop has been loaded, all of my favorite sites have been bookmarked, and I should be back to my usual blogging self in no time.

Considering how bad I've been at blogging lately, imagine my surprise when I got an email telling me that my blog had been nominated for "Best Mommy Blog" by the BoB's (Best of Blog Awards).  Thought that was kind of cool.   And very sweet of my friend Carla.  Also reminds me that I've been meaning to share one of my favorite parent blogs.  If you're ever in need a good laugh, check out Metro Dad.  I came across his blog on the recommendation of my friend Kate, and oh-my-word is it funny!  Especially love his posts about the Disney princess craze, being a lazy parent, and new roles for dads.  Brilliant!

That's so funny. I discovered that blog last week at a friend's recommendation. It's great, isn't it?

although you are lacking in needed energy, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who doesn't need coffee (yet)
